Compare the 111-piece Slay the Spire base-game kit and the 139-piece base + Downfall option. Check character tokens and avoid duplicating the base set.
Choose one of the two configurations
Base Game contains 111 pieces. Base Game + Downfall contains those same 111 pieces plus 28 for Downfall, for 139 total. If you choose the larger option, you do not also need the base accessory set.
What does the base set cover?
It includes Strength, Weak, Block, Vulnerable, x5 multiplier and Boot pieces; energy, block and life track markers for Ironclad, Silent, Watcher and Defect; and their listed Poison, Shiv, Miracle and Orb tokens. The Path Set contains two Merchant and three Campfire tokens.
Choose the base option if those are the characters and components you want to upgrade. The figures and tokens replace physical tracking pieces; they do not add cards or change character abilities.
What does Downfall add?
The extra 28 pieces are four Vigor tokens; energy, block and life markers for Slime Boss, Hexaghost, Hermit and Guardian; six Heat tokens and six Soulburn tokens. The expansion configuration includes the base Path Set too, so Merchant and Campfire pieces are not a separate add-on required for it.
Board game accessories, not video-game content
You need Slay the Spire: The Board Game and, for expansion-specific play, Downfall. Neither the game nor expansion is included. The accessories do not provide access to the video game or a digital mod. Check the product's itemised list if a particular status token is your reason for buying.
Reference and context
Contention Games’ rulebook provides the base-game tracking context. The accessory’s current product list is the reference for the 111- and 139-piece configurations. Read the source.
